One Year
The top two shots were taken one year ago, today. There I am with my dog, Sadie, and the snowman that my brother-Christian-, our friend-German-, and I had made that day. Before tagging our S.man with sticks, I asked Christian to name him. "Man of the Bird," he chose. Little did I know that five days from then, I would lose my brother in a car accident. Little did I know that seven months from then, Sadie would have to be put down due to an uproar of cancer in her ol' body. Little did I know that I will from now on think of my brother -as strong, thoughtful, and kind-hearted as they come- whenever I see a peaceful soaring bird.
He took the second photo, his wool glove peeking in there to the left.

Snack
The other day, I made simple "banana bites" for my boyfriend as one of my Christmas gifts to him! This was in homage to Bluth's Frozen Banana stand from his favorite show, Arrested Development:
Ingredients:
- 3 bananas, chopped into bite-size pieces
- Assortment of chopped toppings you enjoy such as oats, nuts, candy bars, caramels, toasted coconut, cookies, etc.
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Yourself, dressed in an apron
- A dog & coffee for company
1.) Stir chocolate & oil in small saucepan over low heat until smooth. Cool for 15 minutes if you feel like it!
2.) Line a baking sheet with foil. Coat single banana in chocolate & then roll/cover in topping choices. Transfer to foiled baking sheet. Repeat...
3.) They're good to snack on when freshly hot or after being in the freezer for 3 hours, whichever you prefer.
That's a wrap!

Here birdie
My
Art Ed. Studio class spent a few days making birds. My little one is
pictured above. We used willow branches for the structure (soaking
branches beforehand in warm water for five minutes makes them easier to
bend and shape), hemp rope to fasten and secure, and rice paper for
coverage. Other materials that could be used are tissue paper, fabric
scraps, and wire.

It
is day five of Christmas break, and so far, so wonderful. I have been
sleeping in, jogging, cooking, and watching TV. The sun's shining now,
so out I go!
